Farrow & Ball Introduce 12 New Colours to their Main Collection

This Spring, Farrow & Ball are updating their signature colour palette with twelve beautiful hues. An exciting announcement for colour connoisseurs, this marks the first major collection update since 2022.

This February, Farrow& Ball will unveil an exciting update to its main colour collection. In addition to the launch of nine brand-new shades, Farrow & Ball will also reintroduce three beloved colours from the Archive collection —a first in the brand’s history.

Curated by Joa Studholme, Farrow & Ball’s colour curator, and creative director Charlotte Cosby, this update draws inspiration from the beauty of the everyday. From humble household essentials like a trusty garden tool or a simple duster to the warmth of a well-worn fireplace or the golden glow of fresh marmalade, these colours celebrate the charm of the ordinary.

“Now that we spend more time in our homes, I felt it was time to celebrate the more commonplace colours, to find joy in the familiar, often from the world of utility and function. These colours are ordinary treasures to me, often overlooked in our busy day-to-day lives.” - Joa Studholme, Colour Curator at Farrow & Ball

Available across all Farrow & Ball finishes including Estate Emulsion, Modern Emulsion, Estate Eggshell, Dead Flat, and Exterior finishes, these colours invite a fresh perspective on familiar hues, bringing warmth and character into contemporary interiors.

To showcase the refreshed palette, Farrow & Ball is launching a brand-new colour card, making it easier than ever to explore the collection and find the perfect shade for your space. Pick up the colour card for free in your nearest branch of Pat McDonnell Paints.

The new colours will be available to purchase in-store and online—with free delivery—at Pat McDonnell Paints, making it easier than ever to refresh your home with these exquisite shades.

Introducing 9 New Colours...

Farrow & Ball’s latest palette expansion introduces nine brand-new shades alongside the revival of three timeless archive colours, offering a fresh take on classic and contemporary hues. From soft, earthy neutrals to rich, nature-inspired tones, each shade tells a story of warmth, nostalgia, and everyday beauty.

1. Scallop

A soft white with a delicate hint of salmon, Scallop is a versatile neutral that offers a lighter interpretation of Dead Salmon. Inspired by the gentle curves and colours of shellfish, this shade brings warmth and elegance to any space — making it an ideal alternative neutral for a refined yet welcoming home.

2. Dibber

A down-to-earth, mossy green with brown undertones, Dibber takes its name from the traditional gardening tool used to plant seeds and bulbs. A natural, grounding shade that feels both familiar and fresh. Its organic, grounding qualities make it a perfect choice for biophilic design schemes, effortlessly bringing the outdoors in.

3. Reduced Green

Reduced Green is a deep, dark neutral green. Depending on the light, it can read as brown or green - giving it a dynamic quality. With its sophisticated, earthy feel, Reduced Green works beautifully in heritage-style interiors, adding richness and depth.

4. Sizing

A crisp, blue-based neutral inspired by laundry starch, Sizing brings a fresh and airy feel to interiors. “You can almost smell clean laundry when you look at this colour,” says Joa Studholme. A soft, pale blue neutral that enhances light-filled spaces.

5. Naperon

A faded terracotta with a warm and lived-in feel, Naperon evokes memories of retro kitchen interiors. Pair it with Lime White and Lichen for a 1970s-inspired scheme full of nostalgic charm.

6. Marmelo

Warming and restorative, Marmelo is a faded orange colour named after the marmelo quince. “I can’t help but think about bountiful larder shelves filled with jars of pickles and jams when I see it,” says Studholme. This comforting hue adds depth and vibrancy to any space.

7. Kakelugn

Named after Swedish folkloric fireplaces, Kakelugn is a pale blue that provides a gentle pop of colour. While reminiscent of Light Blue, it has a distinct charm of its own, bringing softness and subtle energy to a room.

8. Douter

A smoky grey-green, Douter offers the perfect blend of sooty green and muted grey. This colour is inspired by the tarnished brass and soot of a traditional candle snuffer. It creates atmosphere and depth, making it an excellent choice for moody interiors.

9. Duster

The deep ochre colour of Duster is inspired by the familiar yellow cloths used in homes worldwide. Rich and earthy, this mustardy yellow radiates warmth and character, perfect for creating a cosy, inviting space.

... And Welcoming Back 3 Archive Favourites

1. Etruscan Red

A deep terracotta revived from the archive, Etruscan Red offers an earthy yet vibrant touch. Less intense than Preference Red, it still carries depth and richness without overwhelming a space. For a bold statement, pair it with Scallop for a striking two-tone effect.

2. Broccoli Bown

A muted neutral brown reminiscent of weathered wood, Broccoli Brown boasts a dark stone-like quality that feels timeless. Lighten its depth by pairing it with Stirabout, creating a soft, balanced contrast.

3. Sap Green

A deep, lively olive green, Sap Green takes inspiration from the rich and energising hues of nature. This balanced, medium-toned green brings an organic, grounding presence to interiors, making it ideal for both traditional and modern spaces.
