What Colour Should I Paint my House Exterior? Top Factors to Consider

Tip #1: Survey Your Surroundings

When gathering inspiration, first consider your neighbourhood. Note the colours of nearby buildings and think about whether you would like your house to stand out or blend in. Use colour cards to narrow down your selection to your top choices and pick up a few testers to see how they will look on the walls. Paint large test patches and keep an eye on them over the course of the day to see how the colours change in different lights. Bear in mind that the colour may appear different on different sides of your home depending on how much sunlight each side receives. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to assess your test patches.
